Din Adaptor 3/8" BSP Female Parallel x 9/16"-24 Male With Gaskets - 703145

his DIN adaptor is a threaded plumbing fitting used to join two components with different thread standards — a 3/8″ BSP (British Standard Pipe) female connection to a 9/16″-24 male connection — typically in water, gas or fluid systems where such conversions are needed. It includes gaskets to help ensure a leak-resistant seal.

Where it is used

Application:

  • Converts/joins a component with a 3/8″ BSP female parallel thread to a component with a 9/16″-24 male thread.

  • Commonly used in caravan/motorhome plumbing systems, marine water fittings, RV appliances, filtration systems or plumbing assemblies where one part uses BSP fittings and the other uses 9/16″-24 thread types.

Typical installation locations:

  • Under sinks or in service cabinets for water systems

  • Near pumps, filters or filtration units

  • Rubber hose/flexi-pipe connections on water supply lines

  • Junctions between appliances and plumbing runs where thread standards differ

How it is fitted

Before you start

✔ Ensure both connection points you want to join have clean, threaded fittings with matching sizes: one must accept a 3/8″ BSP male thread, the other a 9/16″-24 female thread.
✔ Check the gaskets supplied are positioned in place to help seal the joint and prevent leaks.
✔ Tools you may need: two adjustable spanners/wrenches, T-seal or approved thread sealant/tape (if recommended by application), cloth for clean-up.

Step-by-Step Fitting

  1. Prepare the threaded fittings

    • Make sure both the 3/8″ BSP male and the 9/16″-24 female connection points are clean and free of debris.

    • Inspect thread condition — replace or re-thread parts if damaged.

  2. Fit the gasket

    • Ensure the rubber gasket(s) supplied with the adaptor sit correctly inside the adaptor’s female BSP end (or against the mating surface) as required for that connection. The gasket helps create a seal when tightened.

  3. Mate the adaptor to the BSP fitting

    • Align the 3/8″ female BSP side of the adaptor with the male BSP thread on your plumbing fitting.

    • Thread it on by hand at first, ensuring it winds on smoothly without cross-threading.

  4. Tighten the BSP side

    • Using a wrench/spanner, tighten the adaptor onto the BSP fitting until snug.

    • Do not overtighten — a firm, secure fit is sufficient. Use a thread sealant or tape if specified for your plumbing system (check system manufacturer recommendations).

  5. Connect the 9/16″-24 male side

    • Once the adaptor is secured to the BSP side, align the 9/16″-24 male thread with the corresponding female fitting.

    • Thread on the mating connector or hose fitting by hand, then tighten with a wrench until secure. A gasket, O-ring or seal may sit at this end to prevent leakage — ensure it’s positioned correctly.

  6. Check for leaks

    • After installation, run water or fluid through the assembly.

    • Inspect both connection points for any sign of dripping or seepage.

    • If minor drips appear, you may need to slightly tighten connections or add appropriate sealing tape.

Quick Fit Notes

  • Function: Threaded adaptor — converts 3/8″ BSP female to 9/16″-24 male connection.

  • Includes: Gaskets to help form a leak-resistant seal.

  • Application: For plumbing, water systems or fluid connections where different thread standards must join.

  • Material: Typically stainless steel or similar corrosion-resistant metal.

  • Installation: Screw-in adaptor — hand-start threads, then tighten with spanners; use thread sealant/tape if required.

Pro tip: Always support the plumbing lines when tightening to avoid stressing hoses or fixtures, and test under normal operating pressure after installation to confirm a proper seal.
