The G4 Vent Super 14" is a robust manual roof vent designed for 14" x 14" (35 x 35 cm) apertures, commonly found in caravans, motor homes, and camper vans. It features a 12V motor with a three-speed switch, offering three forward speeds and two reverse speeds, allowing for adjustable airflow. The vent includes a smoked lid, white screen frame, and collar, along with a 5" garnish that can be trimmed to fit various roof thicknesses.
This 14″ powered roof vent is designed to be installed in the roof of a caravan, motorhome, campervan or similar RV to provide effective ventilation and airflow control inside the living space. It replaces or fits into a standard roof aperture of approx. 14″ x 14″ (35 × 35 cm) — the same size used by many conventional roof vents.
Typical installation locations:
Roof center or forward roof area above lounge/kitchen space
Roof opening created for a vent or skylight replacement
Anywhere on your roof where existing aperture matches ~14″ × 14″ size
Note: The vent is intended to sit flush with the roof exterior (top side) and connect internally to 12 V power for fan operation via a control switch.
Before You Start
Confirm that your roof has an existing 14″ × 14″ (35 × 35 cm) opening or plan to cut one to this size.
Ensure you have 12 V DC power access inside the vehicle for the vent fan wiring.
Tools & materials you’ll need:
Tape measure, marker pencil, jigsaw or appropriate cutting tool (if cutting new aperture), screwdrivers, sealant (roof-safe silicone/sealant), screws, insulation/dust protection.
Prepare the Roof Opening
If replacing an existing vent, remove the old unit and clean the aperture.
If installing into a new location, carefully cut a 14″ × 14″ hole through the roof panel and inner lining (use protective gear and support materials).
File or trim rough edges and clear debris.
Check Fitment
Test-fit the vent into the opening — the vent’s collar and garnish should sit snugly in the cut-out.
The included garnish can be trimmed to match roof thickness differences.
Apply Roof Sealant
Generously apply a roof-rated sealant around the exterior edge of the aperture. This helps prevent leaks once the vent is secured.
Install & Secure the Vent
Place the vent unit into the opening and press firmly into the sealant.
Secure with screws or fasteners through the vent base flange into the roof structure — ensure screws are tight but not over-torqued.
Wire to 12 V Power Supply
Connect the vent’s 12 V motor wiring to the vehicle’s fused 12 V circuit via a switch (ideally with three-speed control).
Red = +12 V feed; black = ground/earth (check product manual for specifics).
Final Adjustments & Testing
Turn on power and test all speeds and airflow directions (forward/reverse if available).
Ensure the lid opens and closes smoothly and that there are no electrical or mounting issues.
