Sleep Safe COA10 is an easy to use and reliable self-contained carbon monoxide alarm. An essential product in all domestic environments such as homes, caravans and boats. The unit comes with a ten year warranty and has a built-in battery.

It comes featured with a 85dB audible alarm, 3 LED indicator readouts (Alarm, Fault and Power), 10 year sealed-for-life battery, low battery warning, end of detector life warning, silence function and and alarm memory function.

The SleepSafe 10 Year Carbon Monoxide Alarm (COA10) is a life-safety device intended for use in caravans, motorhomes, campervans, boats, and RVs to provide early warning of dangerous carbon monoxide (CO) gas. It is a sealed-battery alarm with a 10-year life span — no battery replacement needed.

Where it goes

This alarm must be mounted inside the living area of your vehicle — positioned to detect carbon monoxide from fuel-burning appliances such as:

✔ Gas cookers/ovens
✔ Gas water heaters/boilers
✔ Space heaters
✔ Gas fridges
✔ Solid-fuel or diesel heaters

General recommended positions:

• On a vertical wall (not in a cupboard)

• At approx. 1.2–1.6 m (4–5 ft) above the floor

• Within 1–3 m horizontally of any gas or solid-fuel appliance

• Never directly above cooking appliances or heaters

Do NOT install:

• Inside cupboards

• Adjacent to ventilators, fans, windows or extractors

• In enclosures where airflow is blocked

This positioning ensures reliable CO detection throughout the habitation space, including sleeping areas.

How it is fitted

Safety note: This is a life-safety device. Install strictly according to instructions and the recommendations below.

Before You Start

✔ Choose a flat vertical surface where people spend time (e.g., lounge, dinette, bedroom area).
✔ Ensure the location is free from drafts and away from direct heat sources.
✔ Tools required: pencil, drill (for wall plugs), screws/screwdriver.

Step-by-Step Fitting

1. Mark the mounting location

   • Hold the alarm against the wall at your chosen height.

   • Mark the screw holes with a pencil.

2. Drill pilot holes

   • Drill small holes suitable for wall plugs if mounting to hard surface.

   • Insert wall plugs if needed.

3. Mount the alarm bracket

   • Position the alarm’s mounting plate/bracket over the holes.

   • Fix it securely with the supplied screws.

4. Fix the alarm to the bracket

   • Attach the CO alarm to the mounted bracket.

   • It should click/lock into place.

5. Activate the alarm

   • Depending on model, remove the activation tab or press the activation button.

   • The alarm enters its sealed battery mode with LEDs/audible signal to confirm power.

6. Test the alarm

   • Press and hold the TEST button.

   • Confirm the audible alarm and LED indicator work.
