This 2-part epoxy adhesive is used to fix Treadmaster anti-slip decking and pads securely in place on marine or vehicle decks — especially where a durable, long-lasting bond is needed in high-wear or outdoor environments (e.g., boats, RIBs, yachts, motorhome/van steps, boarding platforms).

Typical use cases:

• Bonding Treadmaster deck sheets or pads to fibreglass, aluminium, steel or timber surfaces.

• Ideal where self-adhesive backing isn’t used or where extra strength is required (heavy foot traffic, wet conditions).

How it is fitted

Before you start

✔ Make sure the surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry and free from oil, grease, old paint or finishes.
✔ Suitable tools: protective gloves, mixing stick, mixing tray, notched spreader / serrated scraper, roller or weighted board, methylated spirits (for clean-up).
✔ Temperature: best used between 10 °C and 30 °C for correct curing.

Step-by-Step Fitting Instructions

1. Prepare the Surface

   • Remove old adhesive, paint or contaminants from the deck area.

   • Abrade fibreglass, aluminium and steel lightly with a scouring pad to improve bonding.

   • Wipe down and let fully dry.

2. Mix the Adhesive

   • Open Part B (hardener) and pour into Part A (resin).

   • Mix thoroughly until the colour is consistent throughout.

   • Use immediately — pot life is limited once mixed.

3. Apply the Adhesive

   • Spread the mixed epoxy evenly on the back of the Treadmaster sheet/pad (and optionally to the deck surface) using a notched spreader or serrated scraper.

   • Work quickly to avoid the adhesive starting to cure before positioning.

4. Position the Decking

   • Place the Treadmaster sheet or pad into position.

   • Use a roller or flat board with pressure to squeeze out air and consolidate the adhesive layer, working from the centre outward to avoid air pockets.

5. Clean Up Excess Adhesive

   • Immediately wipe away any excess with methylated spirits before it hardens.

6. Curing Time

   • Adhesive will begin to set in a few hours (varies by temperature/humidity), with maximum strength achieved after ~24 h.
