Built from robust medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) in a black UV-resistant finish, this tank offers 69 litres of water capacity — ideal for fresh water or grey water use in conversions and camper setups. The colour and material help reduce sunlight penetration and algae growth, keeping stored water fresher for longer.
Vehicle Fitment: VW Transporter T5, T6, T6.1 (2003 → present) — not compatible with 4motion/all-wheel-drive layouts due to undercarriage differences.
Capacity: 69 litres (+/-3 %)
Material: Medium-Density Polyethylene (MDPE)
Colour: Black polymer
Built-in ½″ BSP threaded inserts: for inlet, outlet and vent plumbing connections (each thread can be used as needed).
Approx. Weight: ~9 kg (empty)
Dimensions: ~1000 mm (L) × ~960 mm (W) × ~225 mm (H) — space-optimised to sit under the van and clear obstacles.
Custom-fit design: Purpose made for VW Transporter camper or conversion projects.
Underslung installation: Adds substantial water capacity without eating into internal living space.
Durable and UV-resistant: Black MDPE body stands up to road debris, weather and long-term outdoor exposure.
Flexible plumbing points: Three ½″ BSP female threaded inserts allow configuring inlet, outlet and vent in positions that suit your build.
Note: The base tank itself does not include mounting brackets or plumbing fittings — these are typically available separately as accessory packs (e.g., complete fitting kits).

Complete Fitting Kit for VW Transporter Underslung Water Tank 69L · £69.43 includes mounting brackets, bolts, washers and screws for under-vehicle installation.
Before you begin: Ensure safe lifting/support of the van (e.g., axle stands or ramps) and verify no interference with fuel lines, brake lines or electrical wiring.
Prepare tank location: Identify the area under the VW Transporter in front of the spare wheel, clear debris and mark out where tank will sit.
Mounting brackets (if using a kit): Attach the supplied bracket set to the vehicle chassis using existing holes or supplied bolts — aligning them to support the tank’s threaded inserts.
Secure tank: Lift the water tank into position and bolt through the bracket points using the bracket kit hardware. Ensure the tank sits securely and does not contact the ground or components.
Plumbing connections:
Install an inlet line (½″ BSP) to your fresh water fill point.
Connect an outlet to your water pump or system feed.
Fit a vent line to the third port to allow air exchange when filling/emptying.
Use appropriate hose clips and PTFE tape on threaded fittings to prevent leaks.
Test: Fill with a small amount of water and check for leaks before securing all lines and completing the build.
Tip: Seal all under-vehicle drilled or tapped areas with waterproof sealant to prevent corrosion. When routing hoses, keep them clear of hot components and moving parts.
This tank is ideal for campervan conversions, motorhome builds or work van leisure upgrades on VW Transporter models T5 through T6.1 that are rear- or front-wheel-drive. Mounting underslung helps maximise interior space for living areas, seating or storage, while providing a reliable reservoir for fresh or grey water systems.
