The Whale Water master gives a smooth consistent flow and can run dry without causing damage. It is self-priming up to 3 metres and is suitable for 2 outlets (2gpm) or 3 to 4 outlets (3gpm). A fully sealed protective motor housing and completely integrated switch means the pump is well protected. Included in the box: 1 x Strainer,1 x Screw kit, 2 x 1/2" threaded connectors, 2 x 1/2" barbed connectors. 12 volt. Available in 2 and 3 gallons per minute versions.

The Whale Master 3.0 GPM 12 V 30 PSI Water Pump is installed inside a caravan, motorhome or campervan as part of the fresh water system.
It is typically fitted close to the fresh water tank and supplies pressurized water to taps, shower and appliances throughout the vehicle.

Common installation locations:

• Under a seat or bed near the water tank

• Inside a cupboard or service locker

• Under the sink (if close to the tank)

The pump connects between:

• The fresh water tank outlet (inlet side)

• The cold-water plumbing circuit (outlet side)

It runs on 12 V DC and automatically switches on/off based on water demand.

How is it fitted

Important: This is a 12 V electrical appliance connected to the vehicle’s water system. Installation should be carried out by a competent installer. Always isolate power and water before fitting.

Before you start

• Switch off the 12 V supply at the control panel or battery

• Drain or isolate the fresh water system

• Ensure the mounting surface is flat, solid and vibration-resistant

• Tools required: screwdriver, hose cutter, hose clips, PTFE tape (if threaded fittings used)

Step-by-step fitting

1. Choose the mounting position

   • Mount the pump as close to the water tank as possible.

   • Install below the tank outlet if feasible to help priming.

   • Ensure good access for future servicing.

2. Secure the pump

   • Fix the pump to a solid surface using the rubber anti-vibration feet supplied.

   • Do not overtighten screws — allow the mounts to absorb vibration and noise.

3. Connect the water inlet

   • Attach the hose from the fresh water tank outlet to the pump inlet.

   • Use the correct diameter hose and secure with a hose clip.

   • Ensure the hose run is smooth with no kinks.

4. Connect the water outlet

   • Connect the pump outlet to the cold-water feed supplying taps and appliances.

   • Secure with hose clips and check alignment to avoid strain.

5. Electrical connection (12 V DC)

   • Connect the pump wiring to the vehicle’s 12 V supply:

     • Red wire: Positive (+)

     • Black wire: Negative (–)

   • Ensure the circuit is fused as recommended by Whale.

   • Secure cables away from heat and moving parts.

6. Prime and test

   • Restore water supply and 12 V power.

   • Open a tap — the pump should run and pressurize the system.

   • Check all joints for leaks.

   • Close taps and confirm the pump stops automatically.

Pro tip

For quieter operation and longer pump life, mount the pump on a solid panel with rubber isolation, keep inlet hoses short, and avoid sharp bends in pipework
